According to Hindu Mythology, It is believed that Hindu philosopher and reformer Sri Adi Shankaracharya used the word “Char Dham” which means four Holy destinations or abodes of God inside the four directions in India – Badrinath inside the North, Rameshwaram inside the South, Puri inside the East and Dwarka inside the West.
But when it comes to the journey, the pilgrimage route of Char Dham Yatra is much more famous. First is Yamunotri Dham which is located at an altitude of 3293 metres above sea level, in the Garhwal Himalaya about 40 km away from Barkot. Second is Gangotri Dham and this temple opens on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya which is fall in the month of May and closes on Bhai Duj. Third is Kedarnath Dham and this temple is one of the Holiest Pilgrimage Center in northern India, which is located on the head of Mandakini river. Fourth is SHRI BADRINATH DHAM which is one the most important dham and the only temple which is part of both "Chardham of India" and "Char Dham Yatra"
I am blessed to complete the Char Dham yatra this year
! Jai Shriman Narayan! Jai Shri Badri Vishal!
